After being hired by the Undercover Mama team to manage their affiliate program, we quickly realized that we needed to take a step back and evaluate some concerns we had with their current Shopify store and in particular the theme they were using. We identified the following as some of the issues that concerned us:
- Low conversion rate
- Lack of cohesive branding – utilization of brand colors, fonts, and slogans
- It wasn’t clear who Undercover Mama was or why I should buy from them – which contributed to the low conversion rate
- Lack of a “trust” factor on the website
- Lack of required pages – disclosure, privacy and cookie utilization
- Desire to implement additional pages – Affiliate Program, Collaboration, and FAQ’s/Help
The Island City Digital team worked with Undercover Mama to select, configure and implement a new Shopify Theme with the main goals being:
- immediately knowing “who” Undercover Mama is and what they sell when landing on the their home page
- better implementing and bringing the site to life with the warm, fun colors of the Undercover Mama Brand
- improving the conversion rate, and reducing bounce rate
- improving the number of pages viewed
- making their best selling products also their best landing pages
- improving the trust factor of buyers coming to Undercover Mama
Almost a month after implementing the new theme we have seen the following statistics
- 140% increase in visitors with a 148% increase in new visitors
- bounce rate is down by 3.5%
- a 19% increase in session duration
- a 158% increase in page views
- conversion rate continues to increase based on promotions being run
